what is a better generic diazepam?

Over the last few weeks my anxiety symptoms have increased so badly, and I couldn't figure out why, I was having a melt down of sorts last night, ears ringing so much, anxiety through the roof. I decided to take my dose from another bottle and I notice a big difference, I'm thinking the other stuff was weaker. With the delay in withdrawals with valium I wonder could it take a few weeks to really notice an increase in symptoms if the other stuff is weaker?

It was teva 2 mg tabs, so was the one I took last night, but new bottle different batch, I guess. I could never take mylan, it always gave me a headache and did nothing.

I take Teva, as it's working fine with me. But you may be sensitive to the inert ingredients of a new drug, so that may be a reason. But you have to remember, that the FDA investigated both Teva and Mylan, and they found both companies added less of the drug to save $$. You might want to ask your pharmacist to order a special batch of the drug made by a US manufacturer. That's what I did, tho I didn't notice any difference. Never trust an India-based company. ~~ Bets

I'm really sensitive to fluctuation in the dosage especially, I'll definitely be checking out if their are any manufactures that make it here in the US, but I doubt it. I'm not even sure valium non-generic is either the way things are these days, bet that's crazy expensive, haha  :o

There are US based companies that make the generic version of Valium. But if you are so super sensitive to drugs, that may also cause a temporary problem as well. And the cost of brand name Valium differs wildly. It's depends on your insurance, pharmacy or whether you qualify for "extra help" because you are disabled. I have known some people who pay $50 for a 30-day supply, and others who pay $15. Since I am on disability, I pay $2.55 for a 30-day supply. I would say lucky me, but somehow I don't feel lucky at all. ~~ Bets

Bets,

I checked around a bit, it's like $118 for name brand stuff, which I kind of expected. My insurance doesn't cover medication until i meet the deducible. Still for the teva brand I was only paying like $2.15 for 30 2mg tabs. I've heard good luck with some brand called watson which is like $9, I'll probably be trying that. Dang I feel like such a junkie having to check around for prices and brands.

I've taken my meds from the new bottle of teva for 2 days now and I feel completely different, so in case anyone thinks their generic could be making their symptoms worse, it could be. I haven't adjusted my dose for months, so if that bottle was weaker it was like an unexpected cut. Which is exactly what it felt like, it crept up on me over the last couple of weeks. I'm still recovering from it, I guess the diazepam has to build back up in the system again. I don't want to go through that again, unless it's under my control, when I want to taper. I didn't know if I was going to make it, thought I was going crazy. I don't know what I would have done without this place for support.

These damned pharmas. They should know better about their manufacturing process. I have only heard good things about Watson. So that's your ticket. BTW, it only took me 7 days to adjust to my V C/O. I'm what is called a rapid cycler by my doc. Meaning that my drug rapidly cycles thru by blood stream, and thus, I will feel the effects sooner rather than later and stabilize sooner. It also means that the drugs don't last very long. :( I am also non sensitive to just about any med. I guess I am weird. ~~ Bets

I just hope they let me refill it early, i've already transferred my prescription, but I hope that isn't going to be a hang up tomorrow when I want to pick it up.

I'm the opposite of you completely with drugs, like cough syrup, that stuff is a nightmare for me, regular doses build up in my system, 2 regular doses and I'm tripping for 2 days, awfully unpleasant.

I bet they'll give you the drug. But wow! $118. Who can afford that? Certainly not me. I take cough syrup once in a while and I never even notice that I have taken it. I bet you would even feel poorly if the bottle was past under your nose. >:( Good luck, hon. ~~ Bets
