I took Valium the first time since my C/Turkey last week...

at my dads wedding because I just felt I needed something to get me through it.It was the first big social thing ive went to since my Cold Turkey fm a massive dose of Valium 17 months ago.I now feel like it's a massive set-back.I took a 10 tablet tray and a 1/2 of yellow 5mg tablets over the 3 days of the event (I had to help run the whole thing as my dad has cancer and special needs right now). This is now a week since I took the last pill and I feel ok.No disturbing return of symptoms etc.I feel a little more anxious but not much else which im soooooooooooo grateful for.I had visions of the seizures and wicked WD etc. returning.

What do I do now? Reset the clock and say ive been off Valium for a week?? Or say ive been off for 17 months with a set-back.I really really wish I hadn't done this.I feel so dejected and like ive failed myself and all the hard work ive put in for the last couple of years.

I don't want to take Valium or other Benzos again though which is a big plus.

I suppose ill have to just get on with being sober and if any events come again where i have to speak in front of people etc. i'll have to grin and bare my way through it.

I would say you have been off them 17 months. I don't think you are to explain a few doses over a three day period when you have been off them for over 500 days.  I am glad it had did not have a negative effect on your recovery. I am glad the wedding went well.

Your so far out, try not to take again. I don't think the one time will hurt you but if you keep doing it I don't think it's good.
