desire to withdraw from Klonopin

Been on 1 mg. daily of Klonopin for three years and want to discontinue.  I tried to stop about a year ago but got the shakes and resumed the same dosage.

A good place to start is reading the Ashton manual . Dr. Ashton is an authority in the field of benzodiazepines tapering and withdrawal.

 

The rule of thumb for reducing your dose is 5-10% every two weeks or so. This rate can vary from person to person. Some can go a bit faster and others need to go slower. But know that eventually we all heal from this.
