Black poop anyone?

Stomach pains along with dark, 'tar-like' stools can be symptoms of a bleeding ulcer.

Have you felt fatigued lately?  Been losing weight abnormally?

Your symptoms are something you might want to run by your doctor.  A simple endoscopy (I've had 4 of them, they're a breeze) may be required to rule out an ulcer.

I agree with Rayman. Unless you have been taking pepto bismol you should not have tar like stools. I would also suspect internal bleeding of some sort. If it hasn't gone away after a week I would see a doctor.

It has come and gone many times sometimes lasts a couple days sometimes just one or two times in a row. I don't think it's bleeding.

Are you taking an iron supplement? That can cause black stools. Otherwise I agree that I've normally seen it in the case of a bleeding ulcer but from my experience of what I've witnessed you would see blood clots or a hint of red.. Also fatigue & dizziness would most likely accompany it. Keep us updated...

No, It isn't normal, and it is important you go soon to a doctor to rule out internal bleeding - that's generally what black stool means, it's not normal and its not benzo withdrawal. They will want a stool sample.

It's important you take this seriously and act promptly....you said that you don't think it's bleeding, but without analysis, you could not know this.

If it is black as in TRUE black, get yourself checked out, if you mean almost black, it's probably still wise to see your doc.

Bowel movements that are black can mean cancer, it is a sign anyway... so needs investigating, black poo is not a good thing.

Mine is pale when after cuts... and if I am in a bad wave, it sometimes goes orange... when I got slammed in 2012 it was like I was passing orange juice for a week... bile probably... completely screwed up my stomach and I was barely eating.

I have even had almost white poop in this taper... but generally my stomach is much more functional these days but I go by my wellness by my bowel movements, when they are quite solid and no longer pale, I know I am getting stable again.

Not black, no... but green  ???

Green is usually caused by eating certain food colors - like blue or purple.  Other times it can be caused by foods going through your system too fast.  This is not dangerous.

BLACK on the other hand DOES need to be checked by a doctor - it could be something you ate, too much iron, or internal bleeding, but it should be checked out.

The first time I had black i did call an ambulance, my heart was also racing.. the er doctor said its not blood.. nor had i eaten anything, not iron, not red wine, nothing that could explain it

I remember this, from the acute phase. I used to describe it as "black ink." I was terrified, but too sick to get out of bed. It was like this for a few months, and then it passed.

Have you had other GI issues than the color? I see you've got quite a long history with these pills

Borellus: I have never had any problems with my stomach, just during the acute phase. Found this in Ashton's manual:

Digestive problems. Some people have no problems at all with their digestive systems during or after withdrawal, and may even notice that they are enjoying their food more. Others, perhaps more prone constitutionally, may complain of a range of symptoms associated with "irritable bowel syndrome" (IBS). These can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, abdominal pain, flatulence, gaseous distension and heartburn. Quite a few have found these symptoms so uncomfortable that they have undergone hospital gastrointestinal investigations, but usually no abnormality is found. The symptoms may be partly due to overactivity in the autonomic nervous system, which controls the motility and secretions of the gut and is very reactive to stress, including the stress of benzodiazepine withdrawal. In addition, there are benzodiazepine receptors in the gut. It is not clear what the functions of these receptors are or how they are affected by benzodiazepines or benzodiazepine withdrawal, but alterations in these receptors may play some part in increasing gut irritability.
