I've been on klonopin for about 14 months, taking .50 mgs a day, each and every day. I've been through two different p docs, both of whom approved of this. I just wanted to feel better and stop the anxiety, and they were more than willing to prescribe this drug for me. Now I've been off klonopin (still taking Lexapro 10 mgs a day) since last Sunday and I'm feeling VERY anxious. I have gone off of the klonopin very slowly - over the last three months, yet I'm still feeling light-headed and extremely anxious.

 

I joined this site to get some support as I take this journey to "clean myself up".

Congrats on being benzodiazepine free. The symptoms you describe are classic withdrawal symptoms. Even with a taper one can still feel unpleasant symptoms. The good thing is they are only temporary and things will get better.

 

You might like to check out The Ashton Manual it is an authoritative source on what to expect in withdrawal and recovery.  Dr. Ashton is an expert in the field.  She describes and explains withdrawal symptoms,.
