Six months out today

And I still have a lot of physical symptoms. My left calf is twitching and I have a lot of pins and needles in my foot. My right hand is still stiff and weird. Thumb and index finger are twitching and aching. MRI of neck showed some typical neck issues can may cause pitched nerves. Still I'm very concerned about my situation since I'm not getting any better and I'm still worried about ALS. Anyone else have these symptoms so far out? Please answer me because I'm so scared.

I have some of the same symptoms but I'm only 50 days out. I jumped on July 7th. I can't believe this is taking so long. I see you're at 6 months out. I guess I have a long road ahead of me. Hang in there!!!

Hey HG, congrats on six months.

I know you are scared and you have a right to be. You have never felt these symptoms before and you are in withdrawal. I'm 13 months out and I still have the muscle symptoms, twitching, stiffness, pain and weakness. A lot of people on here have these symptoms for quite sometime while others have an easier time. Just like some people have worsened depression and no muscle issues at all.

We are all different and we are all going to heal from this hellacious withdrawal.

Have you tried the Epsom salts baths? Also a heating pad seems to soothe my stiffness at night and helps me sleep better.

I won't tell you not to worry because we become experts at that in withdrawal.

I know you are worried but please remember the muscles are a big withdrawal issue.

Hugs.

Congratulations, HGHG!!!

I'll be there myself in a couple of weeks, but I know what you mean about having a lot of physical symptoms. I'm having both mental and physical ones. But at least we're at the six-month mark! Never thought it would take this long.

Congrats on 6 months!  My physical sxs started slowly getting better around 6-7 months off.

Hang in there, everyone's timeline is different, but you will start seeing some improvement.

Thank you so much, buddies! You are my lifesavers! I actually feel that things are more difficult now than a couple of months ago. I no longer can drink coffee and running puts me into a wave. I believe it has something to do with the phenergan I was on for four of these six months. I hope we all heal soon! :smitten:

I still have a bit of anxiety and depression which are manageable and they only last about an hour if they do surface. I have also had a bit of benzo belly and tinnitus every now and again.

I see you had a baseline improvement too! That's good! I actually don't know what I have anymore. It's like a big foggy trip.

Yeah definite baseline improvement, symptoms just seem so much more reduced and my emotions and memory are getting better slightly :)

congratulations on 6 months! you will definitely start seeing some improvements! don't worry. :)

Thank you, pretty! I really hope so. This is so exhausting and I'm taking a new emg test. If its clean I'll stop worrying about ALS. How are you doing?

well, i would say that there have been some improvements. it's very hard to detect when you feel so bad all the time. you really have to look for it and think back to how it was in the very beginning. sometimes things do feel worse as we go along but it doesn't mean we're not healing.

Yes, it's very important to look back. Also to see that the whole thing started because of benzo. I hope you'll feel better soon!
