Milwaukee Benzo Support Group

There are two of us now and we need more people for the Milwaukee Benzo Support Group. We would meet at a coffee shop and discuss all things benzo related and start the healing. Feel free to bring your loved ones and friends, :smitten:

I would caution everyone when playing with the idea of starting a support group, to remember that we ask all of our members to remain anonymous for very good reasons.

First, if you would like members of this forum to join such a group, you would need their personal information. It's against our policies to post personal information on the forum or to solicit such information via the forum or PM.

Secondly, please remember to guard your personal information very carefully. There are those online who are not who they claim to be. This all too common on the internet. You don't know who anyone truly is. It's not past some to pretend to be a sort of person for months or even years...only to be someone else entirely.

We take the security of our members very seriously here. Please follow our guidelines and policies. Here is some information from our Guidelines:

"You are not permitted to post your contact details to the BenzoBuddies forum. Nor should you solicit the contact details of other members. Links to, or requests to join, Facebook or any other social networking websites which might potentially identify members' true identities are not allowed"

Thank you.

This would be totally anonymous Julia with the best intentions. We would meet at a local coffee shop and give each other support. Is that OK? Don't want to break any guide lines here, I love this site and what its given me,

Hi Gibson,

As long as you do not solicit contact information via the forum or via PM, I don't see a problem.  We simply can't utilize the forum to gather this kind of information, even with the best of intentions.  I'm sure your intentions are honorable.  :)

Hi,

It would be fine to post meeting dates/times and locations (so long as those locations are public places). Just don't exchange personal details through the forum systems.

I don't wish to alarm people, but it is worth pointing out that a dreadful little troll and stalker, who has targeted members of our forum and elsewhere, lives in Wauwatosa (just a few miles away from Milwaukee).

It would be wise to look up 'Scott Gaulke' (or Scott M Gaulke) - there are pictures of him on the Internet - so that you could exclude him in the event him managing to make his way out of his basement. I think it extremely unlikely he'd ever interact with 'a target' in the real world (he is a consummate coward), though a neighbour of his did take out a restraining order against him some years ago. So, take some sensible precautions (look up those pictures).
