Hello.

Here are some answers about my situation:

--Your reasons for joining BenzoBuddies (withdrawal support; taper advice; information; etc.);

additional support to get off my benzo.

--The type of benzodiazepine (or z-drug) you take or have taken;

klonopin

--For how long you have been taking benzodiazepines;

Your present dose;

nearly 21 years.

present dose for almost 14 years

--The size (dose) of the individual pills you use;

0.5 mg x 5

--If you have started or finished your taper;

began taper about 4 months ago

--And anything else you feel would be useful for those wishing to reply to your introduction.

I'm hoping to gather more info on klonopin and benzos in general.

Hello  K :hug:

Welcome to BenzoBuddies!.

You will find a lot of information here. We are pleased you found us. We have a great community of caring members here. Members have been through all aspects of benzodiazepine use and withdrawal, and will share their experiences with you.

Well done starting your taper, the best way of getting off benzodiazepines  is to taper off slowly.  Ashtons suggested taper rate is 5/10% every 10/14 days. Its important to listen to your body when tapering, you can adjust the rate if need be.

You may want to familiarize yourself with the Ashton Manual. It is a great resource for information about these medications and how to withdraw.

Here is a link to the manual: : Professor Ashtons Manual  .

For tapering advice General Taper Plans

For support with any symptoms: Withdrawal Support

If you would please be so kind as to add a signature (history of meds/doses etc) it will help members give you relevant advice.  This link will show you how to do this Create a signature

Welcome aboard

Welcome.  Magrita sent you a link to the Ashtom Manual. It is a great resource on benzodiazepines. I read it from front to back when I first joined. In my opinion reading it can make someone a mini expert in no time.
