Hi.  A Dr. prescribed Vistiril (hydroxyzine) for anxiety. Any thoughts?? Also psychiatrist didn't know what to do for me, so he gave me a prescription for Seroquel which I didn't take as soon as I saw that drug could also have withdrawal symptoms.  Thoughts?

How did your taper go? Are you now off the V?

 

I don't believe in psych meds anymore so maybe someone who does will say something about those meds....

Taper went ok....ish.... Now that I'm practically done (just a quarter of a 5mg valium left) I feel scared and super depressed, and incredibly lazy.  I do not believe in psych drugs either but unfortunately I didn't know any better and started an anti depressant at a young age and I believe totally messed up my brain.  Got hooked on the xanax when I tried to get off that antidepressant.  My dream would be to not have to worry about working and paying bills at all and go somewhere nice for 2 years or whatever and clear my brain from all this crap.

A drug like Vistiril is what started me on a 15 year drug merry go round. As far as Seroquel welcome to hell is all I can say about that drug.

I appreciate the honesty.  Glad I decided not to take the seroquel, have not read one good thing about it.
