Fumbled latest Refill

[Mc...]

Recommended Posts

Hey all, taper was going quite well and felt ready to drop down to 10mg(5mgx2) a day from 15mg(5mgx2,5mg). Requested a refill from the doc, went through no problem. But apparently the 5mg tabs were out of stock and ended up with the blue 10's instead. Unfortunately dropped the ball by taking 40-50mg daily over 3 days.

Ive gone with the strategy of having a close friend dole out my meds so I never have more than 2 day's amount available. Wanted to test myself and completely blew it.. So, Im thinking one obvious way to stop that from happening next time would be to hand them over asap. Then again, I need to take full responsibility at some point.. Not the end of the world, but it does feel like a defeat with the all the usual feelings that go along with it.

Good news is, Im tapering down well but would appreciate any other suggestions or advice here. please dont hold back, I can take it.

Thanks  :boxer:

Hi, Mcnab. Since you have a close friend willing to help out, why not?

Save the "need to take full responsibility" until you feel up to it.

Also, I bet your friend is glad to have something that he or she can actually help you with  - my friends have watched helplessly by without really knowing what to do.

It's okay to ask for help and I'm sure your friend is happy to be able to help.  ;)

Agree, my wife handled mine, and off for no other reason than cog fog, having someone else,to deal with pills is a good idea. I would not have intentionally taken too much, but I was so out of it that I'm sure I,would have made a mistake.

There'll be plenty of time in the future to take full responsibility for yourself. For the time being just lean on those who are willing to help you through this.

I also did stupid mistake with pills  - don't worry so much about it just try to get back to where you need to be and if it takes more time so be it -time is what we need.  I bought one of those 7 day pill holder things and it helps.  I do my dose for the week and do it when I am not in 'cog fog'.  I also label the bottles with a large marker so I know what the pills are as soon as I pick them up from the pharmacy.  No small print for me - bright red permanent marker!!!  I haven't messed up since - my problem is my valium and klonopin teva brand  pills look identical - same color, size etc.  so I took klonopin thinking I was taking valium and tripled my dose - what an idiot!!!  But now I am almost all the way back down to where I started again - oh well it is only time and nothing I could do about it.
