Feel doomed on the other meds that detox out me on. Can barely function as is and the thought of having to taper the other two seems impossible. If I felt the way I do without meds I would have hope. Now I feel doomed to be poisoned forever. Has anyone here survived polydrugging.

Hi Satch!

I think you know that I have done cannabis for some time.  It used to be just occasional (until 2.5 years ago).  Then it got to be a daily thing, and I started taking in a lot of the active ingredient (up to 125 mg THC a day - 5 mg gets a 'normal' person high).  On top of that, I used gabapentin (usually 300 mg, but sometimes 600) for many years.  And of course there was the klonopin/Ativan.  So I guess you could say that I was a polydrugger (actually there's pretty much no doubt that I was).

I c/t'd Ativan in January and gabapentin in March.  I c/t'd pot three days ago, and am wound up pretty tight right now (it's not nearly as bad as the Ativan c/t except for the insomnia).  You're something like four months behind me.  It's no wonder you feel like shit.  You just need to give it more time, man.  You've told me that you're jealous that I can now drink beer, but 4 months ago that wasn't the case.  Please be patient.  There are good times ahead - even for us polydruggers.

DiClazepam, isn't the best "high" at all but will keep you stable. WD, to me at 6 mg was nothing. Go to school, shoot guns, work. Its what I do. I am by no means a socialite, but if your not gonna die anytime soon you MUST LIVE. I totally understand the depression, I do. But, bettering your life is more euphoric than most (hehe) drugs!

Satch, have you tried Inositol? I am gonna get some today and see if it helps, so desperate now.

I read good reviews on this forum of people that have had very good results with anxiety/depression. Does beer help or send you in a tailspin? That's my carrot these days, my one beer a day at 5pm. Things have to change soon!

Hey Satch,

A year and half ago I was in your boat, poly drugged and scared. There is hope and no matter what you decided you will get through this. Whenever I was having a bad moment or feeling hopeless I read Allison Kellagher thesis. She was also a poly drug survivor and has given me hope for recovery. Here is the link to her story http://www.bcnc.org.uk/allison.html

Hang in there!

Jenn
