does dissolving klonopin with vodka work?

I am tapering off klonopin slowly.  It would be less challenging if i could better dissolve the pill.  I am wondering if klonopin can be safely dissolved in a tiny amount of vodka or alcohol?

That's a very good question.  The solubility of K in alcohol is 5mg/ml, but that is pure ethyl alcohol, not 80 proof vodka, which is 40% alcohol and 60% water.  It might work.  You would need to try it I think as I am not aware of anyone who has tried this.  You would increase your chances by using Everclear 160 proof grain alcohol which ups the alcohol to 80%.  I've been amazed at the success of Valium and Ativan folks who use just a small amount of vodka to pre-dissolve the benzo then add a huge amount of water to make the liquid.  It seems to work even though those benzos are not at all soluble in water alone.  If you got K to work it would be a huge improvement for you IMO.  And also great info for the forum in general.

Found a paper from North Texas University on solubility of klonopin in various concentrations of alcohol/water.  It looks quite a bit less soluble in (e.g.) vodka than most benzos.  Looks like one could use Everclear or 151 proof rum instead of vodka, and that it should work to solubilize the active ingredient.

I wonder if the k. is still potent after using the alcohol.  I am concerned it might dissolve the k, but at the same time it may loose its potency which wouldn't be good during a taper down.

Shouldn't.  Both alcohol and benzos are pretty stable.  I've made all sorts of tinctures in 95% alcohol without issue.
