New and having with drawl symptoms...

[me...]

Just a few things to introduce myself..

I have thyroid and lyme disease and was taking loraz and clonaz for twitches that were caused from lyme.  I was undiagnosed lyme for many years.  Been on loraz/clonaz for about a year and a half...

My llmd wont rx me anymore so i've had to stop taking it.  He told me to wean but i didn't have much to wean with and he also told me to go back to the rx'ing dr and get it from them, but now i'm frightened to take.

Last saturday as my last day using 2 mgs of clonaz.  I noticed thorough the week my sleep was more awful than it usually is.  My trend with Clon was to need it every third night or so.  I never knew why i was could sleep a few nights and then all of a sudden need the clonaz, but someone on my lyme grp yesterday said i was taking 2 mgs of clon , and it has a long half life...

My symptoms right now are:

Loose stools

Headaches

Terrible twitching and even all over huge body convulsions...but only when trying to sleep

Irritable

shaky (but this has been going on for over a month, i think it's adrenal fatigue, as i'm LOW all day, my gaba also was super low and now it's making sense why it was low...

Insomnina

Very hot

seemingly racing heart

Achy muscles -- wrist and knees, ankles-- i thought i was having a herd reaction from lyme meds i take and even stopped taking my lyme meds, but i'm now thinking it is a withdrawal.  Going to stay off lyme herbs one more day , just incase..

Benadryl doesn't work, took 150 mgs and i was having huge body spasms...

Last night took hydroxyzine and it helped a little, but still twitched for most of night.

Ironially , twitching was my first lyme symptom , this is why i thought i was herxing from meds , as herd can usually cause worsening of symptoms...

What can i do to make the next weeks or whatever time it is more easy on me.

I don't want to refuel the rx and wean off as i don't trust myself.  I know i needed two mgs to sleep , 1 mgs wont do anything for my sleep and i will want to ease the pain and take full dose...

Hello  meggy75  :)  Welcome to BenzoBuddies!

I am sorry you are feeling so badly. Everything you describe are classic withdrawal symptoms of stopping benzodiazepines suddenly. You were on a large dose of Clonazapam. Clonazapam has a very long half life so sometimes it can take several weeks to feel the full blow symptoms. Unfortunately there is really nothing you can do to feel better. Time is the healer when it comes to withdrawal.

Dear Meggy, you most definitely sound like you are in w/d. Is there a Doctor that would help you to reinstate and taper slowly? I know you have said you don't want to RX and do a slow taper, but seriously there is no easy way to do it. You stopped taking your dose on Saturday? Many times the symptoms get worse over time. If you feel you need to reinstate I would do it soon.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Your only other option is riding it out, but I don't recommend that, IMO. Your Lyme symptoms will probably feel worse also. W/D makes whatever else we are going through feel worse. We are all here to help if we can.

Love Jackie :smitten:

Hi Meggy

Sounds like withdrawal to me.  The last suggestion to reinstate and taper is probably your best bet.  Either way, there's lots of support here on the board.  Welcome.
