I am not native in english and i am currently studying in south korea.

Around two month ago i went to psychiatrist here but couldnt talk well cause of the language barrier. I was prescribed medicine, one of that was ativan 0.5 mg in the morning and in the evening.  I have been taking these medecine for one month and started to feel exetremly bad so i visited doctor again and this time with translator. the doctor prescribed Bromozepam 3mg per day and Lexapro 10 mg.

Right now surfing the internet i found out how much harmfull benzodiazepine can be and decided to stop taking this drug but i know that it can be dangerous to abrupt it at once. I have been on this drugs 5 weeks already and really understand that this is not a choise to continue.

I dont have anyone to talk with here in korea so I hope someone from this forum can give me any advice.

Hi, benfree.

Welcome to benzobuddies. Glad you found us.  :)

Your English is great. You will find a lot of information and support here.  You were wise to research this before you spent any more time on Ativan, and I'm really glad you decided to taper off this medication.

A good resource about benzodiazepines is the Ashton Manual. Here is a link to the manual: Professor Ashtons Manual  It’s great for learning about these meds and for taper plans. Ashton recommends reducing between 5 - 10% every 10/14 days.

You'll find a great community of people here who will support and encourage you. Feel free to check out the forum and to post to any of the dedicated boards.

In addition to the Ashton Manual, here are some other resources:

For tapering advice, post here General Taper Plans

For support with any symptoms you may have, post here: Withdrawal Support

Please add a signature (history of medication/doses etc). It will help members give you relevant advice. This link will show you how to Create a signature

Please let us know if you have any questions.
