DEAREST FRIENDS ON BENZO BUDDIES.......

I have posted a lot on this site. Well.....just a little.......

All of my symptoms are mental and psychological.

I am wondering and wracking my brain as to what I can do for myself. To improve my situation.

There must be something that can be done to end or at least relieve this state.

Distract and then distract some more.

That worked the best for me once I accepted this process and allowed my body to heal on its own schedule.

Hi dolphins 1...the first few months can be awful. There doesn't seem to be an antidote. Pianogirl is right. Try to accept where you are at this place and time. Even in the pain and turmoil. Can you keep a daily journal...it's an amazing tool for looking back on and seeing our progress. Stay as interested in daily life as possible. This will pass.

OMG....keep as busy as you can be.  been there....the mind is abstract and goes all over da place...CNS is healing ( I always tried to remember that) and distracted myself with easy stuff in the beginning...funny movies...easy games on the internet...small things to do around the house..little walks through the neighborhood.......Jude

I'm in acute and this is brutal as well...this week...heightened anxiety to the point where it bothers me to type!  :'(

BUT...I kept writing and finished my first round of edits for my childrens book. It made me so happy despite the fact that I feel like I am having a nervous breakdown when I type at times.

It will pass...

Distract yourself however you can.  Do this even if you don't want to/or don't think you can do it.  Do it anyway, using anything that gets your mind off the symptoms for even a few minutes.  Distraction gave me some relief when nothing else would.

There is really nothing else you can do at this point.  You're not "in control" of this process.

Very sorry that you're hurting right now.  It will get better.  I know that the 'stay busy' and 'distract yourself' stuff gets said a lot, but it's really the best approach.  You're only just over a month 'clean' now.  That's often a tough time for many people.  Hang in there.  fwiw - I watched a lot of SNL reruns.  It was easy, they sometimes made me laugh, and there are a lot of hours of them to occupy myself with.

Mary - If you delete " " from the modified link, it still works (at least it did a few minutes ago).  It was cute watching the kitten and the dolphin.
