Ok, I started my period a few days ago, yes I am still on birth control and will not get off. Symptoms rev up so bad but has anyone noticed symptoms worsening at the end of the cycle? The past few days I have had cog fog, heart palps, forever feel like I'm going to faint, just plain out of it, fatigued, etc. has anyone else experienced this? I have read the threads about pms and the beginning of cycles but none at the end. Scared

I am post menopause so I can't tell you my experience, but I do know that benzo and wd can mess with hormones so I am it surprised things get revved up around that time. But the syx you describe I feel a lot without cycling anymore.

You could ask your doctor about "stacking" your pills (skipping the placebo week so you're always taking active pills.)  If you're getting sick the week you're taking the placebos that might help by keeping your hormones at a constant level instead of going up and down.  A lot of women do this to skip periods.  You could also look into a birth control method that involves a continuous dose of hormones, like depo-provera, the implant or the mirena IUD.

Hi Jennifer,

There is a thread dedicated to this kind of stuff over in the support group section.  It's about three quarters down the first page called Menstrual Support Group.

The benzo w/d flared up terribly for me around ovulation and also around my period.  The days I was affected were sometimes unpredictable also which made it harder.

I think you'll find great support and many who can relate on the thread I just mentioned.

Hang in there, it will get better when you are off...

Love gts
